Virtualisation – How it can reduce your costs and minimise downtime

Virtualisation

Virtualisation is now accessible for many small and medium sized businesses and we are already seeing some of our customers utilise this technology to reduce costs of IT ownership and, at the same time, create a more agile infrastructure for their company.

What is virtualisation?

Virtualisation gives you the ability to run software within a virtual environment eliminating the need for multiple types of physical hardware.  Instead, different applications and operating systems can be run on a reduced number of servers..

How can this help your business?

Simply put, with virtualisation you will need less physical hardware to run multiple types of operating system and applications. So if you are currently using multiple severs then your cost of IT ownership and your running costs can be reduced by implementing Virtualisation and consolidating your existing servers.

With virtualisation you also benefit from an easier back-up and disaster recovery solution, reduced downtime due to increased server flexibility and a smaller carbon footprint due to the reduction of physical servers used.

How can you take advantage of virtualisation?

If you are currently using 2 or more servers within your business Virtualisation will be able to save you money. We will need to discuss your current IT infrastructure with you as well as your future plans to address how virtualisation can best be implemented within your business so if you would like to find out more please contact your Account Manager, email marketing@hbpsystems.co.uk or phone 01724 400303.
