IRIS Exchequer V6 Upgrade Guide

Ensuring you are on the latest version of IRIS Exchequer will become essential for many businesses from January 2010 due to changes in legislation which require updates to your system. We've put together a guide for anyone using IRIS Exchequer to ensure that you are on the correct version of the software in time for the changes.

It is very important to check whether or not these changes affect you so please follow the instructions below...

Version 6.0 or Higher

Lower than Version 6.0

What to do if you are on IRIS Exchequer Version 6.0 (or higher)

Do I need to upgrade?

If you currently use EC VAT (if you trade in Europe) then you must be on the latest version of Exchequer in time for January 2010.

If you do not use EC VAT then you do not have to upgrade (but there are a host of new features available to you if you do)

When do I need to act?

If you use EC VAT your system must be up to date by January 1st 2010 – in order for this to happen we recommend that you book your upgrade NOW.

What are my upgrade options?

We can arrange for an onsite upgrade to be carried out by one of our IRIS Exchequer experts. This will ensure that your system is correctly upgraded, that you are trained on all of the new system features and that your data is tidied during the upgrade process.

If you feel confident in updating the system yourself simply contact us and we can send you out the upgrade CD for you to install.

What are the benefits of upgrading?

If you use EC VAT you will abide by the new legislation for countries dealing within the European Union.

In addition to this these are several new benefits of upgrading to the latest version of IRIS Exchequer:

New Sorted and Filtered Views – this includes options to sort and filter both lists and ledgers

Enhanced General Ledger Budget Views – this enables you to include budget information within a single General Ledger View

All-new Advanced Discounting – this has been extended by three new discount methods, Total Transaction Discount, Value Based Discount and Multi-Buys

Bank Reconciliation Efficiency – an improved Wizard which automates the Bank reconciliation process

What to do if you are on version lower than Version 6

Do I need to upgrade?

If you currently use EC VAT (if you trade in Europe) then you must be on the latest version of Exchequer in time for January 2010.

If you do not use EC VAT then you do not have to act but we strongly recommend that you upgrade to IRIS Exchequer Version 6 as a minimum.

When do I need to act?

If you use EC VAT your system must be up to date by January 1st 2010 – in order for this to happen we recommend that you book your upgrade NOW.

What are my upgrade options?

We can arrange for an onsite upgrade to be carried out by one of our IRIS Exchequer experts. This will ensure that your system is correctly upgraded, that you are trained on all of the new system features and that your data is tidied during the upgrade process.

Please note that this is a major enhancement to your system and we require you to book your upgrade as soon as possible. This will provide us with enough to time to complete the installation process before the legislation changes take place in January 2010.

Do to the nature of moving to Version 6 from earlier versions we are unable to provide any other methods of upgrade.

To check your Software version, you will need to be logged into any company and go to Help – About:
